What is QIXO? QIXO is a travel
shopping-comparison engine that searches dozens of travel web sites in
real-time to compare prices, flight times, numbers of connections,
etc.
Does QIXO mean anything? Yes.
Quest for Impossibly eXcellent Offers.
What can QIXO do that Travelocity or Expedia can’t?
QIXO is not a seller but a comparison engine. Travelocity and
Expedia do not show flights and prices that other dozen web sites
have. Travelocity does not even show Expedia’s flights and prices
and vice versa. They are, moreover, sellers. QIXO shows
flights and prices from dozens of web sites, including Travelocity and
Expedia.
How is QIXO different from Priceline?
Priceline does not show any flights and prices that other web sites
have. Priceline asks you to name a price (but not flight times) for an
airline ticket and give your credit card info, and if they find that
price, you have to purchase the ticket. Priceline is a seller, and QIXO is
a comparison engine.
How much can QIXO really save me? Aren’t most
prices similar? An everyday example: July 1st, a QIXO
search for a direct flight from San Francisco to Chicago was $2000 on
travelocity.com and only $300 on 1travel.com. By comparing multiple
web sites, QIXCompare can offer you savings of 70% or more. And if
your time is money, bringing you the entire online travel world in minutes
and allowing you to QIXBook with one universal booking form will mean even
more to you.
If I am more interested in flight times and no
connections than in ticket price, is QIXO still for me? Yes.
QIXO offers the largest selection of flights ever, on or off the Internet
so that you can find the flight that matches your schedule, has fewer or
no connections and has a reasonable price. QIXO simplifies finding
the ideal flight by displaying various flight details such as the flight
times and number of connections.
What are the main features? QIXCompare: Enter your
travel request and dozens of travel sites are searched in real-time to
present a comparison of all the best deals the web has to offer. QIXBook Save time and money
by instantly booking your travel choice on our site, avoiding the forms
and web pages of the travel site you have chosen to purchase your ticket
from. One form, one click, and QIXBook finalizes your travel
deal.
Couldn’t my travel agent save me more? A
travel agent, who finds you fares from a limited database, cannot offer
you the best deals all the time. And most agents don’t use the
Internet where significant savings and better flights are available.
How do I use QIXO? 1) Enter in your desired
travel dates, arrival/departure cities. 2) Read the QIXCompare itemized
sheet of fare quotes and ticket terms. 3) Book your ideal flight in
minutes by clicking on the 'Book It' button.
Who sends me the ticket? Is it guaranteed?
Your ticket is processed and sent to you by the listed travel site
whose price has been quoted and booked. Each reservation is subject to the
rules and policies of the web site or agency that processes the
reservation. We do our best to present you with only reputable travel
sites.
If I don't find my ideal fare, do I need to re-search
the QIXO site later? Currently, returning to QIXO and performing
another search is the best plan. Prices for airfare change quickly and
searching again helps you keep track of current prices and web
specials.
Does QIXO charge fees? Search and compare for
free with QIXCompare. With QIXBook, you can save time
wading through other sites and purchase your ticket with one click.
A $10 fee is added to each ticket price for this service.
So what’s the catch? Our incentive is directing
traffic to web sites who compensate us for bringing them business.
You can compare all you want free of charge. If you want to book through
our one-click interface, only then you are charged a minimal fee.
How do I sign up? Just purchase at QIXO If you
find a good price on QIXO, you can press the 'Book It' button. Continue
through the booking pages including your email address, password, and
password confirmation. After you purchase, you are a QIXO member.
My Password doesn't work - what's going
on? When booking for your first time, be sure to enter your email
address, password, and password confirmation on the right side of the
booking screen. This will register you in our database. After you have
booked at least one time , you will be able to log in on the left side of
the Member page to perform a purchase.
How long after booking will I receive a confirmation
stating that my purchase is complete? You should receive an email
at the email address you provided within 2 hours. If you do not receive an
email for any reason within 6 hours, please send us an inquiry to
customerservice@qixo.com. Please be advised that your booking is not
confirmed until you receive a confirmation email.
Why can't I find the same flights when I go to the
merchant site? Airline ticket prices are very volatile, which is
one reason why QIXO searches in real time. If you find a good price on
QIXO, you can press the 'Book It' button and purchase right away. Your
itinerary can be found on the left side of the flight results page.
How do I search a multi-segment flight? For
now, QIXO does not offer multiple segment services, as only a few of the
sites we compare offer them. We will be adding this feature and airfare
sites to support it in the next year.
What if I don't know the airport code of the airport I
want? You can enter in either the city name or the airport code for
your airport. Unfortunately we currently can not process country, island,
state, province, or landmark names (such as "disney world" or "hawaii"),
although we will be able to support these in the near future.
Are the prices listed at QIXO in U.S. dollars?
Yes, price are all in US dollars. However, if a flight is
purchased with a credit card with a non-US billing address, the flight
will be purchased in whatever currency the card uses as the country of its
billing address.
What are QIXO's cancellation policies? If your
ticket has been processed as requested by you, cancellation is subject to
the policies of the ticketing agency which has fulfilled your ticket. This
may include a cancelation fee.
Will my ticket be an e-ticket? Flight will be
processed as e-tickets, if available. If paper tickets are not available,
they will be delivered within 2-3 business days from the time tickets are
issued. Shipping costs are $10 to $15, unless overnight, foreign or
Saturday delivery is required.
For American Airlines: If paper
tickets are required, tickets will be sent by mail and will cost up to
$10. In some cases, overnight delivery may be the only option and will
cost $25.
How do I accomodate lap
infants? After booking your prefferred itinerary, you must contact
the airline directly for special requirements for lap infants. Take note
that differrent airlines have different policies. Some airlines may
restrict lap infants to domestic flights only. In any case, have a copy of
the birth certificate at the airport! You may be denied boarding without
it! |
